TAMPA BAY CRIMINAL BLOG: Brooksville Man Has Bond Set At $4.2 Million Following Arrest For Prescription Drug Fraud

Citrus County is boasting to have nabbed the biggest fish in a fraudulent prescription drug ring following the arrest of 33-year-old Jeffrey Ware. According to a story on TBO.com Ware was arrested following a months-long investigation and he was taken to Hernando County Jail where bond was set at a staggering $4.2 million.

Ware was charged with 16 counts including trafficking in controlled substances, unlawful attempt to acquire a controlled substance and federal racketeering. Ware’s wife calls the charges outrageous and claims they are bogus. The Citrus County Sheriff’s office claims Ware was involved in a operation that obtained and sold fraudulent prescriptions.
