Domestic Battery Charges Dropped Against Former Tampa Bay Buc Warren Sapp

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Warren Sapp was arrested and charged with domestic battery in Miami the night before the Super Bowl. Miami-Dade prosecutors have decided not to pursue those charges due to video obtained in the case and inconsistent statements from the victim. According to the Associated Press, Sapp was facing one count of misdemeanor domestic battery.

Sapp was arrested by Miami Beach police February 6 but during their investigation they found surveillance video that contradicted some of the statements made by the victim. Sapp was a commentator for the NFL Network but was pulled off TV following this battery arrest in Florida. He will meet with NFL Network officials to assess his future with the station.

DUI With Drugs Was Possible In Tiger Wood’s Accident According To FHP Reports Just Released

The Florida Highway Patrol recently released reports from the infamous night in November when they responded to a crash outside the Orlando home of Tiger Woods. According to CFNews13.com, a DUI officer on the scene of the crash cleared Tiger of drunk driving but Tiger’s wife did hand over two bottles of painkillers to paramedics on the scene of the accident. The prescription medicine was legal and according to reports Tiger took the pills earlier in the day.

While a DUI officer may have cleared Woods of being drunk, paramedics on the scene felt they were dealing with an act of domestic violence. The investigation was hampered by Woods and his wife not fully cooperating with investigators. Neither spoke to the police and the police also failed in their attempt to get a blood sample from the golfer.

Clearwater Man Arrested On Domestic Battery, Kidnapping Charges After Keeping His Girlfriend Captive

A Clearwater man who has been arrested on domestic battery charges five times in 2008 and 2009 is back in jail after being charged with kidnapping, domestic battery and tampering with a witness. Jonathan I. Bray was being held in Pinellas County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail according to TampaBay.com. The 33-year-old allegedly held his girlfriend captive for two days after chocking the woman until she passed out.

Clearwater police report that Bray punched his girlfriend and strangled her continually over the weekend. She was unable to call police but a neighbor who stopped by the apartment heard her calling for help and called the police. Just a few months ago Bray was sentenced to 20 days in jail for violating a domestic violence injunction.

Charlotte County Corrections Officer Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s office is reporting the arrest of a Charlotte County corrections officer. Thaddeus Boston was arrested on charges of domestic battery and false imprisonment in North Port Tuesday. The 32-year-old was booked and released.

Boston allegedly choked and hit his 26-year-old fiancée following an argument. She ran to a neighbor’s house and called 911 according to the Sarasota Herald Tribune website. The incident took place at approximately 9:30 a.m
